Providence and the Botanical Gardens at Roger Williams Park
The Roger Williams Park contains the New England's biggest botanical gardens. There is also a good zoo, lots of walking trails suitable for cycling along, and some rivers with rowing boats. My young children loved the playground - we can take them anywhere, and it's always the playground that it their best bit, although they did also like the Natural History Museum, which is also in the park.

Spectacular Waterfires at Providence
The waterfires in Providence take place all through the year on various nights - it is always easy to find out if you will in town when they are lit. They are basically around 100 bonfires along the central rivers, burning just above the water's surface. They are lit in the evening and everyone loves them, walking up and down te river. It was extremely friendly, and there was some live music. People managed to keep the bonfires blazing until gone midnight. Quite a unique experience.

Fun at the Roller Derby
The Roller Derby is a lot of fun. You can watch the people practicing there and most evenings there is usually something going on. It was nice to do something a bit different. The Roller Derby is easy to find and is near to the Providence Place Mall, can't miss it.
